The Premier Youth Tackle Football League of Stephenville Texas

The Premier Youth Tackle Football League in Stephenville, Texas - Believe Athletics. Formerly Stephenville Youth Football League (SYFL).

Believe Athletics is the premier youth tackle football league in Stephenville Texas and the surrounding area. We are a non-profit organization that provides youth in Stephenville with a challenging and rewarding experience in football. Founded in 2021, the league offers teams for athletes in grades 3-6. Depending on the number of athletes teams are structured this way:

  • Team/s for third and fourth grade athletes
  • Team/s for fifth and sixth grade athletes
  • Single cheer squad for all interested. Cheer squad will alternate between teams

Although the teams are separate, they work together every practice. We feel this builds a bond between the younger and older players. Consequently creating a smoother transition into the more advanced leagues. Both teams compete in the Texas Youth Football League (TYFL), a competitive league that offers a variety of opportunities for athletes to develop their skills and compete against other top teams in the region.

In addition to football, Believe Athletics also offers a variety of off-the-field programs, such as:

  • Character development workshops: These workshops teach athletes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Nutrition and fitness classes: These classes teach athletes about healthy eating and exercise.
  • Academic support: This support helps athletes stay on track with their schoolwork.

Our program is designed to help athletes develop into well-rounded individuals who are prepared for success in both sports and life.

Our members and coaches are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all athletes. The league’s coaches are experienced and dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of football and instilling the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Featured Player Interview - Asher Moss

Commitment like Asher’s is what makes this team special. Despite tearing his bicep and being told to rest, he chose to suit up, stand with his teammates, and give what he could—all while wearing a sling. In a world where many walk away when things get tough, Asher’s heart and perseverance remind us what true teamwork looks like. It’s not just about playing the game; it’s about showing up, supporting each other, and honoring God through our effort and attitude. Asher, your courage inspires us all—thank you for leading by example!

Prepare for heat!

Parents,

We’re excited to kick off the season—check out the practice pics! If you know someone who still wants to play, bring them out. We’d love to have them!

Hydrate! Have your player drink 12-16oz of water 1-2 hours before practice starts. In this heat, players need about 24oz of water per hour during practice, so showing up dehydrated and trying to catchup will be tough. Afterward, rehydrate with 150% of what they lost—weighing before and after is a great way to track it.

Don’t hide them from the heat. It’s a common misconception that kids should just chill on off days. While not the worst thing, try to instead, take short 30 minute “bites” of low-intensity activity in the heat to help them acclimate. Play catch or maybe a bike ride.

Skip the sugar. High-sugar foods and drinks (sports drinks, fruit juice, candy) can dehydrate you faster — sugar spikes blood glucose, then drops it just as fast, leaving them sluggish when they need energy most.

See you on the field!
